CrafTangles July Blog hop Altered art/mixed media

Hi and welcome to the Craftangles July Blog Hop.

The theme of this blog hop is altered art/mixed media and I altered a little vase (it's about 13 cm heigh). I started by giving the vase a few coates of CrafTangles white gesso.

After the gesso dries I glued on cheesecloth,  a chipboard round frame, resin flowers and metal flowers. You can add heavy materials using matt gel. I also added little stones. Craftangles has art stones available but I don't have them yet, so I used decoration stones and decoration sand. I covered all these bits with a coat of gesso.
Then the fun part started, adding the colors.
I sprayed inks and water on the vase. I only used two colors: trendy teal and bamboo brown.

After the inks dried I added white gesso on some parts to give it more dimension.

I hope I have inspired you with this project. It was my first time altering this kind of item and with just a few supplies and a bit of courage you can create an awesome piece.

For a chance to win a goodie bag from CrafTangles leave a comment below and continue on to the next stop on the hop:  Monika's blog.
