I used gold glitter paper to cut out the poinsettia. The background is black glitter paper. I also added little bits of gold leaf on it. The sentiment is heat embossed with gold embossing powder from Wow.
I added gray burlap and some red accents.

Had given you a Welcome shout-out on my blog, but couldn't trace my steps back to your blog to add the link for my readers to hopefully pay you a visit. Just now found you again, got the link, so will be adding that in to my next post! As much as I hate to disagree with your daughter, I think your card looks very nice. I like the dark glittered background, with the texture of the fishtail in the light fabric. The black & gold poinsettia looks very dramatic, especially with the added bits of red in the center with the red glitter flourish and star. It looks great on your webpage, that's for certain! What a hoot this was to read your write-up! I have never seen a post start with, "I'm not that happy with my next card." And the quote from your daughter was classic! Oh how I could relate to crafting gone awry! But I have to disagree with your harsh assessment of your card because I think it's really stunning. You've chosen such a totally unique color palette for the holidays and I don't think it's over-the-top or cheap-looking at all. It is a far cry from crazy Vegas tackiness! I thought it was clever of you to blend the rustic burlap with the glitter, too, and love that contrast of elements. So while I totally applaud your honesty and got a kick out of your description, just know that there are plenty of us out here who are fans of this card even if it didn't turn out how you wanted.
