So Suzy Stamp of the Month July Release

It's the 10th of the month which means the reveal of the So Suzy stamp of the month July.

For the So Suzy Stamp of the Month Club, you'll get a stamp in the mail that is "coastal themed" (beach, nautical). The program includes a great mixture of sentiments and images. You can sign up for three months to try it out or sign up for the whole year - regardless of where you are in the world! At the end of the year, you''ll have a great collection of coordinating stamps.

This month all the subscribers will receive a great compass stamp which can be used in so many different ways.

When I was thinking about a way to use this compass I remembered a wonderful movie I did see a few times called "The Golden Compass". A great fantasy/action movie. I loved it. Too bad there wasn't another sequel.

This movie inspired me to make my card with a golden compass. I wanted to make a gold and blue themed card.

Supplies:

Copper cardstock for the cardbase
Blue and gold metallic cardstock
Digital paper from Silvercrystalscouk on Etsy
Versamark
Wow Golden embossingpowder
Distress ink
Star punch (Dutch store HEMA)

First I made the compass using versamark ink and Wow gold embossing powder and a round die to cut out the circle.

I used distress ink to give the paper more ancient look.

I cut out a circle from gold metallic paper and one from copper paper and place all layer on each other.

The background panel of the card is digital paper (I altered the colors abit in Photoshop).
Behind this piece I glued blue metallic cardstock.

I also used a scrap piece of gold metallic paper to punch out little golden stars. The sentiment I typed in Word and printed it on a piece of yellow cardstock and distressed the edges.

It's a very shiny card I hope you can see this on this little movie I made.

You can find much more examples with this great July stamp on the So Suzy Blog and on the two Facebook groups: So Suzy Stamps flaunt it FB group and So Suzy stamp of the month

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs, Henriette.

Mermaid card

Hi,

It's been a few weeks since my last post. We have been on vacation to the Canary Island of Fuerteventura.
We had a wonderful relaxing time in Jandia, on the sunny South coast of Fuerteventura..
The sea has the most beautiful color I've ever seen (in Europe) and very clear water.
The white sandy beach was broad. Typing this I just want to go back there :(

My card I'm sharing with you today has sea colors.

The mermaid digital image is a freebie from a day for daisies. I colored the image with watercolors.
I added water splashes on the turquoise paper, blue sequins and shell shaped sequins.

I'm entering this card in these challenges:

Anchor

Hi,

Nautical is not really my theme but I had this cute felt/fabric anchor in my stock for a long time and wanted to use it.
It happens that I signed up for the Inspired by Stamping newsletter and there was a free gift: nautical digital paper.
The perfect paper for my sea themed card.

The card is kept clean and simple. I just cut out a few hexagons in different sizes using the nautical paper.
Looked for a nice sentiment and added the anchor.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

craftin desert divas: red white and blue (I hope this is ok, it's not 4th july)

CASology: nautical

always playing with paper: nautical

who is tracy:Monday Mood Board: inspired by the sea

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs Henriëtte.

Fintastic

Hi and happy Wednesday,

Birdie Brown has some new freebies and challenge. This month she has free dolphin stamps and matching sentiment, here is a link.

I wanted to make the card somewhat different than the usual blue waves and sea.
After some time I found a Japanese wave pattern on Deviant art to use in Photoshop.
I also came across these pretty colors and my next card was there.

I colored the wave pattern in PS using these colors.

One of the advantages of digital stamps is that you can transform and flip the image.
That is what I did with the dolphin to face them opposite from each other. Colored the dolphins in Photoshop using gradients and placed the sentiment in the middle.

Only added some twine and a felt starfish.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
