Needles and pins - a shabby chic sewing box

Hi and happy Sunday. Today I'm sharing this shabby chic sewing box.

I used a small pringles can and decorated it with papers from Fabika Decoru. Furthermore I used lots of lace and crochets pieces from one of my favorite webstores Allmacraft.

There's also a iron pair of scissors, a little spool and fabric flowers on the front of the box.

On the lid I made a pincushion, the fabric is also from Allmacraft and it matches the circle pieces on the front. I also made the stickpins.

I will use this box to store in my yarn bobbins, needles and other sewing items.

Little romantic book box

Hi, today I'm sharing a small book box I made in shabby chic/romantic style.
My starting point for this project was the patterned paper. It's from Bee Shabby and it's called Wedding.

I've made a tiny book box out of chip board. It's total project measures 6 x 8 x 3 cm.
The flowers on the front and inside are all handmade using fabric, tulle and lace.
The oval frame is from Allmacraft .

I've added crochet trim inside the box and on the corners of the booklet.

I just love the romantic look of this little bookbox.

ATC cards

Hi, I've made 6 ATC cards. It was a bit of an experiment and now I can say that I like making bigger cards and scrap projects more.

They are in shabby chic style. I used free printabe images from a group on the Russian VK site.
I printed the images on photo paper. The ATC's are 2,5 x 3,5 inches or 64 x 89 mm.

I've decorated them with all kinds of materials: lace, scrap papers, chipboards, pearls, ribbons, flowers and leaves.

  They all have multiple layers.

Hot air balloon

I had a project on my mind for some time; making a paper hot air balloon.
And because I had a few more days of vacation left I decided to make it and here is the result.

A hot air balloon in shabby chic style.

First I looked on the internet for a template, I found one here on Kaisercraft.

I cut out 8 pieces for the balloon part using heavy white cardstock.
I covered the pieces with Prima marketing Love Story paper. The upper part of the balloon has different paper then the lower part.

It's a bit difficult to glue the pieces together and to form the right shape, but I managed it. Any cracks can be covered with the lace trims.

The decorating is the fun part, I used prima marketing flowers, lace, ribbons, twine, pompom trim, beads, pearls and crochet flowers (from Allmacraft ).

I also glued a few flowers on the basket.

I do like how the balloon turned out, I hope you'll like it also.

Shabby chic hat box

Hi, my second post today is to share with you an altered hat box I've made in a shabby chic style.

I started by giving the box two coats of white gesso. The box is aprox. 17cm diameter. I covered the box with fabrics and creapatch glue. Then I glued on the ribbons and pearls on the bottom and on the lid.

The roses I made with dies from rosy dot and pink, white and green foamiran (bought at 14 craft bar).

Before glueing on the flowers and leaves I've glued on a crochet doily on the lid (bought at a thrift store).

I also added fabric leaves, pearls, beads, crochet circles (from allmacraft), clear drops, ivory bon bons (from crafteezee) and feathers to my box.

Lace

Hi, today I've made this shabby chic project. It's not a card, more a decoration.

I started with a piece of heavy cardboard and coated this with white gesso.
After this dried I glued on layers of beautiful lace, cheesecloth and added a fabric little square.
I made the square from cardboard, plush stuffing and fabric.

On top of the square I glued a chipboard and a beautiful lace flower from Allmacraft.
I also added skeleton leaves, gypsophilia, clear drops and microbeads.

The colors are white, pink and gold. I've added touches of gold paint on the chipboard pieces and on the edge of the leaves.

I love the romantic feel of this project.

Altered book box

Hi everyone! I'm very pleased with this project I'm about to share with you. It turned out so beautiful (this is mainly because of the papers I used). I've made a lot of photo's so you can see the total project.

It all started with this ugly book box I bought at a Dutch store called Kruidvat. I already knew that I wanted to alter it.

First I covered the entire book box with 2 layers of gesso. Then I cut the 12x12 Birdsong papers from Mintay papers to size.
I covered the outside, inside and sides of the book box with the papers from the set. I LOVE these papers, they are really beautiful.

Before gluing on the first paper layer I adhered the white laces so the book can be closed.

I made a panel with the wood planks paper and glued one of the inlay cards behind it.

The inside is kept simple with a little birdsnest, some branches, moss and feathers. The gorgeous papers are pretty enough.

Then it was time to decorate the front of the book box.
I used all kinds of materials from my stash; laces, ribbon, chord, paper flowers, resin frames, feathers, sissal and skeleton leaves. The big daisy flowers are from Lemoncraft.

I also included cut outs from the paper set and two butterflies.

This book box has a real spring feel.
It was my first big altering project and I had fun making it. I hope you like it to.
